Statement from ACerS on COVID-19 and its upcoming meetings
The American Ceramic Society announces it has rescheduled or canceled several events because of COVID-19. The decision, not taken lightly, is based on guidance from the WHO and CDC, as well as local government and public health authorities of our conference venues.
“We considered the emphasis in the near term for ‘social distancing,’ as well as evolving guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and government officials to restrict the size of gatherings and felt the best course of action was to reschedule or cancel several events. We made these decisions with the health and welfare of our attendees, volunteers, and staff in mind,” says Mark Mecklenborg, executive director.
