ACerS returns to in-person meetings in Q4 of 2021

The American Ceramic Society announces that it fully intends to return to in-person meetings for Q4 of 2021 and beyond. ACerS and its Meetings team will continue to comply with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, relevant state and local authorities, and each conference venue in an effort to provide a safe and healthy environment for our meeting attendees during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

While we intend to fully return to in-person meetings, we acknowledge that not all of our international meeting attendees will be able to be vaccinated or to travel in the near future. As a result, we are considering virtual solutions for each of our conferences on a case-by-case basis that will allow broader participation. Please continue to watch each individual conference webpage for updates.

“We appreciate the efforts of our organizers, volunteers, vendors, and partners to work with us and respond to a fast-changing situation in a way that allows us to continue to serve our members and mission,” says Mark Mecklenborg, executive director. “We will continue to monitor the situation closely and make future decisions as needed.”

The ACerS staff remains committed to doing its part to promote the health and safety of the ceramic and glass community and the communities we live in. Please watchwww.eurusdlive.comfor updates and news as the COVID-19 situation continues to unfold.

Featured Upcoming Conference:

14th Pacific Rim Conference on Ceramic and Glass Technology (PACRIM 14) including Glass & Optical Materials Division 2021 Annual Meeting (GOMD 2021)

ACerS is pivoting PACRIM/GOMD to a fully live virtual meeting, December 12-17, 2021. We feel there are too many obstacles to holding an in-person meeting, specifically the current on-site COVID mandates/restrictions, as well as current country and corporate travel bans. A robust live, virtual meeting can include everyone who wishes to participate.

PACRIM14将提供一个独特的知识交流的论坛吗and sharing, and facilitate the establishment of new contacts from all over the world. The technical program will cover a wide range of exciting and emerging topics organized into a 7-track system which includes 42 symposia planned that will identify global challenges and opportunities for various ceramic technologies.

TheGOMD 2021technical sessions consisting of both oral and poster presentations, led by technical leaders from industry, national laboratories, and academia, will provide an open forum for glass scientists and engineers from around the world to present and exchange findings on recent advances in various aspects related to glass science and technology. The program features over 22 sessions organized in five symposia.
